Rumor: HP delays Android tablet in favor of WebOS

Rumors are circulating that the Android-based tablet from Hewlett-Packard has been postponed. Put in context with the purchase of Palm and the commitment to deliver a WebOS tablet, "postponed" is probably just a fuzzy way of saying it will never enter production.

Tata's revenue, profits grow as outsourcing demand rebounds
India’s largest outsourcer, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), posted strong revenue and profit growth in U.S. dollar and rupee in the quarter ended June 30, as demand for offshore outsourcing services rebounds.
The company said on Thursday that its revenue had grown in dollars by 21 percent to $1.8 billion, while profits were up 29 percent to $403 million from last year.

Oracle data grid update makes .Net more scalable
A new version of Oracle's data grid software will allow Microsoft .Net applications to scale to the same large multi-server environments long enjoyed by Java enterprise applications, according to Oracle.
With version 3.6 of Coherence, released earlier this week, "We can support all the major business platforms," said Cameron Purdy, Oracle vice president of development. The updated software also features a new query language and an improved set of management tools, among other enhancements.

The MySQL community is mostly neutral or positive about the open-source database's prospects under Oracle's stewardship, according to a newly released study.
