Apple snatches top US phone-maker spot from Motorola
In a recent article covering Motorola's earnings, Forbes noted that Apple has surpassed the handset-maker to become the top US phone manufacturer. Motorola's unit shipments have slipped to 8.5 million phones in the first quarter of this year, compared to Apple's 8.75 million iPhones.

Valve's Steam to hit the Mac on May 12
Valve has finally revealed an official release date for the Mac OS X version of Steam: May 12th. The service was originally slated for release by the end of April, but it appears to have slipped a couple weeks as the company polishes things up. No other details were given, so at this point we can't really say what games will be available at launch.

Sony sued for removing "Other OS" feature on PS3s
It took longer than we expected, but someone has finally filed a class-action lawsuit against Sony for removing the "Other OS" feature on its PlayStation 3 consoles in a patch last month. Filed on April 27 by Anthony Ventura of California, the suit accuses Sony of the "intentional disablement of the valuable functionality originally advertised as available."

Microsoft has announced that it's axed the much-anticipated Courier tablet. The innovative dual-display slate emerged last September, but apparently never made it past incubation.
