Prolimatech Readies Samuel 17 Low-Profile CPU Heatsink
Prolimatech's latest creation is an HTPC-friendly low-profile CPU heatsink named Samuel 17, after the Biblical Old Testament chapter with the story of David and Goliath. The cooler uses a CPU base in which six nickel-plated copper heat pipes make direct contact with the processor, and convey heat to a dense aluminum fin array that propagates along the plane of the motherboard. On this, users can install a 120 mm fan. The heatsink measures 92 x 45 x 82 mm, weighing 410 g. It supports all current sockets including LGA 1366, LGA 1156, LGA 775, AM3/AM2(+). It is expected to be priced at 40 Euros when it goes on sale.

Xilence Ready With M606 CPU Cooler
Xilence is ready with a new performance CPU cooler, the M606. With a typical aluminum fin tower design, the M606 can handle CPUs with TDPs of up to 150W. It makes use of six heat pipes to convey heat to a dense aluminum fin array, which dissipate heat to the air flow by 120 mm fan. The fan spins a 1500 rpm, and has a frame made of rubber, which dampens noise a little. All current sockets, including LGA 1366, LGA 1156, LGA 775, and AM3/AM2 are supported. The M606 will reach stores soon.

EVGA Upgrades GeForce GTX 470 Reference Design
At a time when every NVIDIA board partner is designing catchy non-reference design graphics cards based on the GeForce GTX 470, EVGA applied its wisdom on simply bettering the NVIDIA reference design to make the card look not only better, but also work cooler. Dubbed the EVGA GeForce GTX 470 SuperClocked+, the card has two new features, the High Flow bracket, and a back-plate. The High Flow bracket is merely a bracket with more opening than the reference design one, which allows better ventilation.
The back-plate works as a heatspreader over components on the reverse-side of the PCB, especially drawing heat from the area behind the GPU, it is highly perforated and attracts convectional air-flow. Aside from cooling, the back-plate adds to the card's aesthetics. With SC clock speeds of 625/1250/850 (3402) MHz (core/shader/memory), the EVGA GTX 470 SC+ is priced at $375 on the company's online store.
