Nvidia's dual-GPU card to be named GTX 490
It looks like Nvidia's upcoming dual-GPU card will end up with the GTX 490 brand. As we already know, Nvidia canceled the original dual-Fermi D12U-50 because it was complex and generated too much heat, so the company chose to use GF104 cores for its new dual-GPU card. Despite this, the rumoured GTX 490 will end up with a 375W TDP.

Microsoft opens Outlook format to developers
Microsoft fulfilled its promise to be open by posting official specifications for Outlook's Personal Folders (PST) format. The combination of a Data Structure View Tool and a File Format SDK give developers an explanation of how to write and read to the format without having to have Outlook itself installed. Developers previously needed to have the e-mail app installed and could only use existing Windows-focused APIs.

HP battery recalls now over 120,000
Hewlett-Packard has announced that it has added at least 50,000 new batteries to its worldwide recall list, adding to the already huge 70,000 number it began recalling in May 2009. The lithium-ion batteries found in 31 of HP's laptops can potentially overheat and then split apart, which could lead to fires.
