Acer might release a Chrome OS devices anytime soon
Reports from the internet could potentially be fulfilling many hopes, as a recent info says that Acer is set to unveil their long-anticipated Google Chrome OS devices in the next couple of weeks, at the Computex Taipei show starting June 1st in Taiwan. Without divulging any real information as to what variety of hardware they plan on running the Google Operating System, we already know that it has been designed with portable computing in mind, but that Acer could be putting this on anything from a netbook, tablet, or even a PDA.

Elpida produces the smallest 2Gb mobile DDR chip yet
Japanese Elpida Memory has proudly announced that it has managed to develop the world's smallest two gigabit DDR mobile DRAM chip by utilizing the 40nm production process. The new chip is less than 50mm2 in size and is aimed for use in mobile handsets, such as smartphones.

New plastic MacBook utilizes 2 4 GHz C2D and GeForce 320M
A Vietnamese leak has revealed Apple's next MacBook update. The plastic model will bump up to most of the specs of the 13-inch MacBook Pro, including its 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo, 250GB hard drive and GeForce 320M video, but as always will still have conscious limits to drive some buyers to the more expensive model. It should still carry 2GB of RAM and use a 7-hour battery compared to 10 for the aluminum MacBook Pro. All the expansion ports and ergonomic design of the system are identical to the redesign that shipped in October of last year.

Skype not planning its software for Windows Phone 7
Very popular multi-platform VoIP company Skype has said that it does not intend to create any software for the upcoming Windows Phone 7 operating system, at least not currently. Instead, they are concentrating on development around the iPhone, Symbian and Android operating systems. That being said, the report is not an official renouncement, but just a current snapshot of the development status of different Skype applications.

Lenovo's Edge: A ThinkPad on a Budget
Seeing that their competitors are shifting sizeable quantities of cheap notebooks and that successful business is never based solely on exclusive models, Lenovo decided to approach customers on a budget. The low price of the recently tested X100e (Reviews/Notebooks/Lenovo-Thinkpad-X100e-AMD-in-Thinkpad.html) is an exception to the prestigious X series and a single model couldn’t have been enough to meet the demands of an entire target group. That’s how the Edge series was created, sheltered by the familiar ThinkPad brand. The interesting thing is that the model we’re presenting this time around contains an AMD CPU, which is the second Lenovo notebook in a row coming in for testing in AMD colours. Edge and X100e have more in common than just the CPU manufacturer, it shows.
