Adobe backs HTML5 in Dreamweaver

Adobe Systems, embroiled in a Web technology feud with Apple that is at least partially attributable to the HTML5 specification, will nonetheless add on Wednesday HTML5 and CSS3 (Cascading Style Sheets) support to its Dreamweaver HTML authoring tool.

EC fines DRAM chipmakers $404M over price fixing

European antitrust regulators fined nine semiconductor manufacturers more than €331 million ($404 million) on Wednesday following a years-long investigation into price fixing in the market for DRAM memory chips.

The European Commission said all of the companies submitted settlements admitting their liability for infringement. The companies fined are Samsung Electronics, Infineon, Hynix Semiconductor, Elpida Memory, NEC Electronics, Hitachi, Toshiba, Mitsubishi Electric, and Nanya Technology.

Suse Linux gets virtualization, high availability, and desktop boosts

With the unveiling of a comprehensive service pack Wednesday, Novell will bolster virtualization, clustering, and desktop capabilities in its Suse Linux product family.

Available June 2, the Suse Linux Enterprise 11 SP1 (Service Pack 1) is optimized for IT infrastructures, including physical, virtual, and cloud, Novell said.
