Imogen Cinema Stick HD‏ Flash Drive Media Player is Rockin' HDMI Output

There's a new product from Imogen Studio that may warrant keeping an eye on. It's a new miniature media player, about the size of a normal flash drive, that is capable of sending video to mini-HDMI. This tiny media player, Imogen Studio Cinema Stick HD‏, has a USB 2.0 connector that allows you to upload videos or music to the internal 4GB flash memory. Additionally, you can use up to 32GB of microSDHC memory cards for a total 36GB of on-board memory. The petite player can be plugged into any HDTV display that supports mini-HDMI and display up to 1080p full HD video.

The Cinema Stick HD boasts a long list of compatible file formats (including MKV, RMVB, TS) with all the most popular video, music and image formats supported. While the entertainment options are impressive, the business options might be even more tantalizing due to many theater systems sporting USB streaming features already. This could trim thousands off of conference room presentation setups, instead of networking projectors and hidden media PCs, you could just expose an HDMI port and train your execs to use a PowerPoint to Video converter program. Throw this in a lappy bag and ditch your notebook; just connect the Cinema Stick HD to your projector and you're done. The only details that we're missing is in regards to power. Is the Cinema Stick HD capable of harnessing power from the HDMI interface or does it always require a USB connection. Is there a battery? How long will it last? We'll wait on baited breath for those details to emerge on this really intriguing product.

Canon PowerShot SD4000 IS, The Perfect Camera for Sports Fans and Parents

The new Canon PowerShot SD4000 IS (a.k.a IXUS 300 HS) may be the perfect purse-camera for soccer moms and dads alike once it hits shelves. This Canon sub-compact is pretty much what one would expect from a 10 mega-pixel Canon with some notable exceptions. The simplified controls make room for an enormous 3" LCD viewfinder on the back. All the features are navigated with a scroll wheel using on screen menus. Where this camera really breaks from the pack is with the low-light and high speed features they've added. This pocket pal is able to capture full 10 mega-pixel images at 3.7 frames per second. This amount of burst-able shooting is usually only available from professional DSLR class cameras. The PowerShot SD4000 IS makes for great sport and even casual photos as you are almost always promised at least 1 good photo with no blinking if you burst capture several. You also have the option of getting up to 8 shots per second at 2.5 mega-pixels.

The speed and size of the PowerShot SD4000 IS would be really great for court side photography. 2.5 megapixels is still larger than most peoples' computer monitors can display and is more than enough for most casual photo needs. Besides being able to shoot full 720p high definition video at 30fps, Canon adds the very rare ultra high speed aka slow-mo 240fps video mode. The slow motion video recording is only possible at 320x240 resolution which means you'll want to be pretty close to the action. With this, you'll be able to see facial expression mid-slam-dunk. Use it as a training tool to critique nuances of form mid-serve or pitch for high speed sports like baseball, volleyball or tennis. Add to all these an F2.0 aperture lens, ISO 6400 film speed and other low light tweaks, and you've got a true superhero made to capture the most difficult photos.
