NVIDIA Solves Multi-Monitor Temp Issue on GeForce GTX 480 :: Posted by THRASHER2
The main issue that we had with the GeForce GTX 480 in our initial review were the high temperatures and we were shocked to see dozens of review sites give the GeForce GTX 480 video card an award when the reviews went up on March 26th, 2010. When we tried to use the GeForce GTX 480 on a multi-monitor setup we knew that 90C at an idle was not right and we called it out. Even though some at NVIDIA might not have liked our review it was the truth! We knew something wasn't right and over the past two weeks we have worked with NVIDIA and made sure our concerns were heard and that something was being done about it. From the looks of things the latest version of GPU-Z and the latest BIOS update make running a dual monitor setup possible without cooking your system internals..."

Watching The 2010 Masters Tournament in 3D with NVIDIA 3D :: Posted by THRASHER2
"After watching the Masters for a couple of hours today in 3D, I have to say that I am impressed. I don't wear glasses, and wearing the 3D glasses takes a bit to get used to, but the user experience is well worth wearing the glasses. The bunkers and water look amazing in 3D as you can really make out the topography of the course like never before. In face you can make out subtle undulations on the green that you can't see without 3D! You really need to try it out for yourself! "

While there isn’t much in terms of computing power increase on the CPU, the advantage here is that lower power consumption is offered, which results in a longer battery life.”

Thermaltake Frio Overclocking Heatsink @ High Tech Reviews :: Posted by THRASHER2
Today we have the pleasure of reviewing the newest addition to the Thermaltake heatsink group. The Frio is in a class by itself with it's massive size and the ability to dissipate as much as 220 watts of energy make it a true tool for the overclocker. So how much power is 220 watts of power, a good example is to look at the motherboard and processor we will be testing the heatsink on. The processor will be the Intel Q9550 SLAWQ which has a thermal Specification of 95 watts, so in other words it would be able to remove the heat theoretically from two of these processors, albeit it would be hard to mount one heatsink on two processors. So come on along as we raise the speed of the memory so as to create as much of a load for the Frio as possible.
