
First dual-core Atom-equipped netbook comes in June
Confirmed for a Q2 debut by Intel itself, the first dual-core Atom processor for netbooks is reported to be the chip of choice for ASUS' Eee PC 1215N which would reach stores in June, likely after Computex 2010. Beside the dual-headed Atom N5x0 CPU, Asus' upcoming netbook will feature a 12.1-inch (1366x768) display, 1/2GB of RAM, a hard drive, the GMA 3150 IGP, together with an Nvidia NG-ION GPU backed by the Optimus technology which will automatically switch between the available graphics cores depending on the workload to save power.

ASUS prepares its answer to Apple iPad
They're a few upcoming challengers to Apple's iPad, from the likes of Dell and HP, however, news is abound that ASUS is readying its own foray into the ring, with an offering known as the Eee Pad. It is believed that ASUS is tapping into the power of the Android platform for the software side of things, whilst NVIDIA's Tegra 2 SoC will form the heart of the system. Moreover, features ranging from USB connectivity and an integrated webcam, to Adobe Flash support from a software angle, appear to be attempts to leapfrog over Apple's effort.

HTC not interested in Palm anymore, Lenovo now main candidate
After HTC dropped out of the hunt, it appears that Lenovo is now the front-runner to purchase struggling smartphone maker Palm. Lenovo is the world's fourth largest PC maker, but has struggled to make any headway into the phone market. Lu Chialin, an analyst at Macquarie Securities in Taipei, said that a most suitable candidate will be a mainland Chinese company with a lot more free cash and no brand presence in the United States.
