Xilence readies non-vibrational case fans
Xilence announced introduction of a new line-up of case fans named 2CF, which are supposed to be vibration-free thanks to the use of a rubber frame that dampens the rotor's movement, and a metal bearing shell.

Inno3D makes custom GTX 470, sort of
Inno3D announces what they claim to be a custom version of the GTX 470 card, but as far as we can see there hasn't been a lot of changes. Inno3D apparently changed the heatsink that will now have four instead of five heatpipes, and the circuit board is green instead of black.

ProMOS and Rexchip increase 63nm Elpida DDR3 production
ProMOS Technologies has started churning 63nm for Elpida Memory DDR3 products, and Rexchip Electronics (Elpida's subsidiary in Taiwan) is meanwhile set to significantly ramp up chip production using the same node prior to a process shift to 45nm. Apparently ProMOS has quietly moved up its schedule start production based on Elpida's process technology. Mass production on 63nm for Elpida's DDR3 memory is expected to be flat out by the second half of 2010, and by the end of the year its monthly output for the chip is estimated at 35,000 wafer starts.

Silicon Power announced the Armor A70 portable hard drive, which is, like previous Armor series, in compliance with US military grade transit drop test. In addition to its abilities to withstand most shock and vibration forces, it is also in compliance with IEC529 IPX7 waterproof tests. The test places the Armor A70 one meter under water for 30 minutes and yet, upon retrieving A70 submersion, it is not affected in any way and is still fully operation. Passing the two rugged tests mentioned above, the Armor A70 also features dust and pressure-proof characteristics.
