ASUS continues the tradition in its ROG (Republic of Gamers) series of motherboards, so, besides the new incarnation of the Rampage model, we’ve now received the new Maximus as well. As ever, Rampage is reserved for the X chipset series, whereas Maximus is supplied with P chipsets. Back in the day of LGA775, we had Formula (DDR2) and Extreme (DDR3) suffixes, but since Intel has since switched to DDR3 memory exclusively, the only suffix left is Extreme.

Google Chrome to integrate Flash
Google previewed its long-term plans for Chrome with a new developer build that integrates Flash. The new version automatically downloads the latest version of Flash at the same time as the browser and makes Flash updates a part of Chrome's own automatic update systems. Future development will also extend Chrome's signature sandboxing design to prevent malicious Flash code from touching other parts of the app or the OS.

Apple updates Snow Leopard to version 10.6.3
Apple has released a new patch for its latest Mac OS X release, Snow Leopard, which fixes multiple minor problems reported and also brings support for Intel's 32nm mobile processors. The highlights of the 10.6.3 update include fixes and improvements provided for printing, video reproduction, OpenGL applications, third-party USB devices and QuickTime X.

XFX not to offer GeForce 470 & 480
XFX informed us that they will not be releasing any GeForce GTX 470/480 series graphics cards to the market when the cards become public next month (check out our GTX 480 review here (Reviews/Graphics-cards/NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-480-Has-The-Waiting-Paid-Off.html)). XFX was not listed as a launch partner for Fermi and did not issue an official press release about the upcoming cards, which might come as a shock to many gamers as they are one of the largest NVIDIA add-in board partners in the world.
