U.S. Broadband Access is Even Worse Than You Think
Guess what? The Slate says that, despite recent claims made by major telecom executives , the U.S. broadband adoption rate (and penetration) is actually far worse than you think. In the same way that it's useful to know the processor speed, screen size, amount of RAM, and hard drive space of a computer before you buy it, broadband measures such as latency, jitter, and uptime are key pieces of information needed to know whether you can run a growing number of online applications, even if they sound complicated at first. HP Acquires Palm for $1.2 Billion
According to the Associated Press, Hewlett-Packard plopped down a huge chunk o' change yesterday to buy Palm. Thanks to [H] forum members BillR and Badcaps for the heads up.
