Apple's iPad A4 SoC: Faster than the Nexus One's Snapdragon?

You all should know me well enough by now. What do you think was the first thing I did once UPS dropped off my iPad this afternoon?

I've been wanting to find out how Apple's A4 SoC performs since the moment it was announced and with the arrival of the iPad, I'm able to do just that. Read on to look at the numbers but I compared it to the iPhone 3GS and the Google Nexus One to get a good overview of how the A4 performs to upper mid range and high end SoC silicon today.

Not to spoil the surprise, but if you're holding out for the next iPhone, it may be worth the wait.

Update 2: Updated the title and added more text in the article itself to make it clear that we're comparing the entirety of the iPad platform (software + hardware) including its A4 vs. the Nexus One and its Snapdragon.
