Kingston readies Westmere-EP-ready DDR3 memory
Beside approving the new 2400 MHz HyperX kit, Intel has certified three Kingston ValueRAM DDR3L registered DIMMs for use with the new Westmere-EP server processors. Kingston's modules, a 1GB Single Rank x8, a 2GB Single Rank x4 and a 2GB Dual Rank x8, work at 1333 MHz with CL9 latencies and are powered at 1.35V which makes them low voltage.

McAfee launches Cloud Secure service
McAfee have launched a service that is aimed to be a real push for enterprise cloud computing, designed to appease fears and entice in new customers. New Cloud Secure platform is set to offer vendors a combined security and certification service that is based on the company's own Smart Protection Network. This new solution will combine Smart Protection Network and certification standards, as well as auditing and daily security scanning.

MSI plans to ship a million of All-in-Ones this year
MSI is hoping for a solid growth of its business this year, one of the catalysts for it expected to be All-in-One desktops PCs. MSI sold some 300,000 AiOs in 2009, but with a more aggressive push and the economic recovery (sort of), it plans to deliver about 1 million units in 2010.

Intel introduces 40GB X25-V solid state drive
Listed by many stores since January, around CES 2010, the 40GB X25-V solid state drive from Intel has now been officially announced and is available for purchase. The new 2.5-inch SSD has 34nm MLC multi-level cell NAND Flash memory chips, a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, a MTBF of 1.2 million hours, and is capable of read and write speeds of up to 170 MB/s and 35 MB/s, respectively.

Kingston is usurping established enthusiast-orientated memory manufacturers by announcing the world's fastest desktop memory - Part of the high-end HyperX line, Kingston is announcing the Intel XMP validation of a dual-channel 4GB kit (2 x 2GB) running at a blistering 2,400MHz. Tested on a number of P55 chipset-based boards with a Core i7 800-series processor, the Kingston kit runs at relatively loose latencies of 9-11-9-27-2T at 1.65V.

First dotcom celebrates 25th anniversary
The first ever dotcom domain has today celebrated its 25th birthday, an Internet landmark. On March 15th, 1985 Symbolics computers purchased the first domain with a dotcom ending, becoming one of just 6 companies/individuals to do so in 1985. In 1997, the one millionth dotcom was registered, a number that has since exploded.
