Taiwan makers plan to display 10 iPad-like devices at Computex
Taiwanese companies will show off "at least 10" devices similar to Apple's upcoming iPad at the Computex electronics show in June, one of the event's organizers said Tuesday.
"All the major laptop PC companies will have a tablet device to show at Computex," said Chang Li, deputy secretary general of the Taipei Computer Association, which co-organizes the Computex Taipei trade show, which runs from June 1-5 this year.

Judge's ruling deals U.S. major setback in H-1B fraud case
In what may be the largest H-1B fraud case ever brought forward, the government has run into trouble with a judge having dismissed a number of counts and suppressed some of the evidence taken from an IT services firm's computers.
The ruling, made late last week, may help IT services firm Vision Systems Group Inc. in its defense against government allegations that it had set up shell companies in Iowa so that it could pay some of its visa workers the state's lower prevailing wage rates.

DOJ won't challenge Cisco acquisition of Tandberg
The U.S. Department of Justice won't challenge Cisco Systems' $3 billion acquisition of video-conferencing service provider Tandberg, the agency announced Monday.
The acquisition of Tandberg, with dual headquarters in Oslo and New York, is not likely to be anticompetitive because of the evolving nature of the videoconferencing market and commitment Cisco has made to the European Commission to provide interoperable systems, the DOJ said in a news release.

Rimini Street files countersuit against Oracle
Oracle on Monday was hit with a counterclaim by Rimini Street, the third-party software maintenance provider it sued in January over alleged intellectual property violations.
Oracle's suit is groundless, anticompetitive and disparaging, Rimini Street said in the response filed Monday in U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada.
