Asus Eee PC M101MT Netbook/Tablet To Ship Next Month For $499
Tablet PCs may be all the rage right now, but there's still the question of how many people actually want to use a keyboard-less slate. We're guessing that the novelty may wear off, and that most folks will end up yearning for an actual keyboard to bang on. For that reason, we think there is a lot of attractiveness in something like the 10.1" Eee PC T101MT, which acts like a tablet if you'd like, but flips around and becomes a netbook when you need a full gamut of keys. The machine was introduced a couple of

Verizon made the news in a big way a few years ago, promising to really add a dose of competition to markets that only had a couple of ISP choices (mostly from cable and DSL providers). Verizon Cutting Back On FiOS Roll Outs: A Fiber Dream Dies
The recession has a lot of negative effects, but largely, thetechnology industry has continued to flourish. Unfortunately, one ofthe greatest competitors in the Internet industry seems to be scalingback their efforts, and the tough economic conditions are primarily toblame. Verizon made the news in a big way a few years ago, promising toreally add a dose of competition to markets that only had a couple ofISP choices (mostly from cable and DSL providers).

The FiOS Internet service was unique; it provided a fiber-basedalternative that delivered fiber all the way to the home, which enabledusers to purchase speeds well over 100Mbps. Those speeds arepractically unheard of, but FiOS was forcing other ISPs to reallyconsider their offerings. Verizon was able to roll FiOS out to 18 totalstates, with some getting a lot more coverage than others. FiOSprovided Internet, TV and phone (if a customer chose), and all weresaid to be of excellent quality. In fact, the worse problems FiOS gaveVerizon were in the customer service area; demand was so great thatmany offers weren't honored, which generated a good bit of negative PR.

Based on a new Associated Press report, Verizon will be scaling backfuture FiOS roll outs, only completing them in markets that they havepromised service and not adding fiber to any area that's not in thatpool. The company will continue to add fiber to homes in Washington,D.C., New York City and Philadelphia, but some other hopeful cities(like Baltimore and Boston) are now out of luck.

We know fiber expansion is expensive, and Verizon has already spentbillions on the effort, but it's still tough to see an industry leadingculling their efforts. Hopefully DOCSIS 3.0 will flourish in order tokeep those 100Mbps speeds coming to consumers, but if you were countingon Verizon to bring those types of speeds to your router, you canprobably keep on wishing.

AT&T Seeks To Expand Market, Targets Dogs
Considering 91% of Americans carry a cell phone, there are not a lot of new customers for wireless carriers to target. That is, unless you start considering non-human customers. That's just what AT&T has in mind with a new dog collar that can connect to the Internet.

After talking about wireless dog collars for more than a year, AT&T is almost ready to deploy a collar. The collar could send text messages or emails to a pet owner if the pet strays outside of a predefined area. It could also provide continuous tracking of the pet.

A wireless dog collar is just one of many new devices AT&T hopes will catch on and provide additional streams of revenue. Other gadgets could include a pill box that will remind you to take your medicine, ereaders, tracking devices for shipping containers, and in-car entertainment systems. By connecting these types of devices to the Internet via AT&T's network, the company expects to bring in about $1 billion in annual services revenue in about five years.

"We see opportunities in dogs, in pallets, in cars and how you take your pills," Ralph de la Vega, the head of AT&T's mobile business, said at the CTIA annual wireless trade show.

AT&T showed off a dog collar at CTIA but did not reveal a price. The carrier expects to launch the collar later this year. The dog collar was developed by Berkeley, California-based Apisphere.

Overclocking the 470/480....

So almost none of the reviews I've seen mention anything about overclocking.

The card already draws a TON of power, and at least two reviews mention temperatures of 99 degrees (just below boiling) while gaming.

What overclocking headroom do you think Fermi cards will have, and more importantly, do you think it'll improve markedly as yields improve?

Bob needs help

Ok so I moved my computer and everytime it gets unplugged it starts up and shuts back down then reboots again telling me that the overclock was not stable and asking if I would like to load failsafe settings or boot as is. I always boot as is since it's not overclocked right now and I it works fine. This time it did that then loads up windows. I start to type my password and shuts off. Now it won't respond to the power button on the case or the motherboard and when I unplug it and plug it back in(or flip the psu switch) it cuts on for 3 seconds then off again.

I have reset cmos jumper, switched out memory one at a time(Even tried my old kingston sticks), reset CPU and northbridge coolers, and switched out graphics cards.
