Line2 App Yanked from App Store.
The line2 app for the iPhone was yanked from the app store for a short time due to the service being "hacked". This is an app that is becoming ever increasingly popular. Check out this article here on [H] regarding the app. And then, later on Thursday, the app disappeared from the App Store. Over 500 messages flooded into my e-mail box, filled with accusations of conspiracy. "Nice job, you idiot," read one. "By writing about Line2, you alerted AT&T to its existence, AT&T called Apple, and now they've taken it down." Comments?

Google has reported that 600 communities are seeking their fiber. I personally have nominated my community and have written many officials in hope of them looking into this. Here where I live currently is limited to 15/1 service at the fastest. "As we narrow down our choices, we'll be conducting site visits, meeting with local officials and consulting with third- party organizations," James Kelly, a product manager, said in the blog posting. Is China the Forbidden Fruit?
The one country that boasts the numbers to make it the one stop shop to get into its 400 million internet subscribers and 700 million mobile-phone subscribers pocket book. The problem is that China really doesn't want the Western companies invading its' domain. "It was inevitable after a certain time they would no longer roll out the red carpet for foreign companies and give them special treatment," said Susan Shirk, a former deputy assistant secretary of state in the Clinton administration responsible for U.S. relations with China. "But now we don't have a level playing field. We have nontariff barriers (in China) designed to protect local companies." Is this such a bad thing though? China protecting its infrastructure instead of selling to the easiest or cheapest bidder. "China is focused not on the world but on itself," said Ed Black, CEO of the Computer & Communications Industry Association. "We don't know how it will be in the long run. But right now it's a difficult situation." Comments.

I know it may be hard to believe, yet at the same time this news is closer to reality than hype. The Apple iPad has had pre-order success. This is in no way a surprise to most Apple gadget freaks. This shouldn't come as much of a surprise for Apple enthusiasts: The various incarnations of the iPhone suffered a similar launch day fate. So much so, in fact, that Apple itself even released an application that checked Apple stores for available stock during the launch of the iPhone 3GS. Comments

Jobs and Schmidt, Together Again
You might remember these two gentlemen don't quite get along, and a pretty funny picture had depicted them as pretty unfriendly towards each other. With photos of their "coffee summit" now all over the internet though, one might think peace might not be too far....... The fact they'd meet in a neutral place like this implies, although does not prove, they chose a public place for its neutrality. Comments
