Fermi mass availability delayed to Q2
Nvidia's upcoming Geforce GTX 400 series was expected to release some time in March. However, Nvidia claims the GTX 400 series will be released in Q1 2011 - which runs till April 30th, 2010. Reporters suggest mass availability has been delayed till Nvidia's Q2 FY2011, which runs from May 2010 to as late as 31st July 2010.
In addition to GTX 400, Nvidia's CEO, Jen-Hsun Huang claims Nvidia is all set to "launch a couple of Fermi products" that will span Geforce, Quadro and Tesla - all by July 2010. However, there are no plans to refresh the mainstream GPUs any time in the near future.

S3 to demonstrate dual-GPU Chrome
S3, minnows of the GPU world, have announced a new dual-GPU graphics card. The Chrome 5400E X2, like its name suggests, is a dual-GPU version of the Chrome 5400E, designed for the embedded market. Unlike Nvidia or ATI, however, the primary purpose of two GPUs isn't increasing performance - rather increasing the number of display outputs. And this is the 5400E X2's USP.
The Chrome 5400E X2 will power up to 8 (yes, 8!) full HD monitors through 4 video streams. The closest competitor in this regard would be the upcoming ATI Radeon HD 5870 Eyefinity Edition, but that will likely end up costing several times more (offering several times the performance).
