Microsoft Unveils Sub-$30 BlueTrack Mice

Microsoft has announced the addition of three new sub-$30 mice to its BlueTrack product range. For those of you in the dark, BlueTrack is Microsoft's proprietary tracking technology using high-angle Blue Specular Optics to create a more exact image of the tracking surface. This enables users to use their mouse without a mouse pad on surfaces such as granite, wood or carpet.

Traditionally BlueTrack products have held a high price-tag, but with the release of the Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500, the Wireless Mouse 2000 and the Comfort Mouse 4500, BlueTrack is affordable too.

The Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 features a nano-transceiver designed to be kept in the computer all the time where as its little brother, the Wireless Mouse 2000 features a mini-transceiver which snaps to the bottom of the mouse when not in use. Both mice are ambidextrous and include rubber grips. The Wireless Mouse 2000 is full-size and the Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 is a tad smaller, as portability has its price. The Comfort Mouse 4500 is the first wired BlueTrack mouse, saving the hassle of changing batteries.

The Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 will be available in gray and pink for $29.95, the Wireless Mouse 2000 in gray for $29.95, and the Comfort Mouse 4500 in blue, red and pink retailing for $24.95. The Wireless Mouse 2000 and Comfort Mouse 4500 will ship in March, and the Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 will ship in April. All mice will be backed by a three year warranty.
