ATI Radeon HD 5830 Official Specifications
AMD’s budget enthusiast graphics card has finally been revealed to the public. After a few delays, it will officially be released in two days’ time on the 25th of February. Part of the 40nm Evergreen family, this variant has 2.15B transistors like the 5850 and 5870, it comes with 1120 stream processors (not the alleged 1280), a 256-Bit GDDR5 memory interface, 16 ROPS and 56 Texture Units. It has a core clock of 800 MHz and the memory comes clocked at 1000 MHz (4000 MHz effective) which gives a total of 4.0 Gbps data rate. All this comes (or should) to a total of 1.79 TFLOPS of processing prowess. Maximum power consumption is a bit higher than the 5850 (151 W) at 175 W, but idles 2 W lower at 25 W. The price will be $250 RRP at launch and as time goes on and with the release of some competition (aka Fermi) price should drop to a fairly reasonable price of $200 for a card of this caliber.
