NVidia debuts OEM-only GeForce 300 series
NVidia has exposed three new (sort of) GeForce 300 series cards which are aimed at the OEM market (PC manufacturers): GeForce GT 340, GT 330 and GT 320. There's nothing really new about these three cards as they are based on NVidia's DirectX 10.1-supporting 40nm GT21x (probably GT215) chips.

Reported release dates of AMD's 8 Series chipsets
In the works for some time, AMD's new 8 Series chipsets are closing in fast, with a new report claiming that the new chips will debut next week and continue their roll-out in April. The first 8 Series release is supposed to be the 890GX chip which will support AM3 processors and be equipped with the DirectX 10.1-ready Radeon HD 4290 integrated graphics core. This one will debut on March 1st and be present in waves at the CeBIT (within motherboards).

NVidia to unveil the GeForce GTX 400 series cards on March 26
The major announcement prepared by NVidia today is unfortunately pretty anti-climactic although it does give a date for the company's first DirectX 11 graphics cards - March 26. According to NVidia's Twitter post - The world's fastest PC graphics gaming technology will be unveiled at PAX 2010. so we've still got 31 more days to wait for the GF100 cards to make their official debut.

Samsung pocket vidcams get 1080p
As part of its updates for PMA, Samsung on Saturday added two new U series pocket camcorders. The HMX-U15 and U20 together both have a new look that also hints at new features compared to the U10: either now shoots at 1080p and carries a built-in USB port to connect to a computer without a USB cable, much like a Flip. In a very rare move for the class, the U20 also brings 3X optical zoom to close in without sacrificing image quality.

Apple purges adult apps out of App Store
Apple has reportedly thrown out a bunch of applications for the iPhone that contain adult content under a new policy that bans all overtly sexual content . Developers have been getting notices from Apple informing them that their applications have been removed from the App Store, without any prior warning or notification of a change in policy.

HP presents five new compact digital cameras
HP has announced five fresh point-and-shoot digital cameras which will first be showcased at the PMA tradeshow in Anaheim next week - the CW450t, CW450, PW460t, SW450 and PW550z. The 'stars' of this release line-up are the CW450t and PW460t which come equipped with 2.7-inch and 3-inch LCD touchscreens, respectively, and feature 4x optical zoom (5x digital zoom), 12.2 megapixel CCD sensors, and support for SD/SDHC memory cards. The CW450t has a recommended price tag of $109, while the PW460t costs $149.

Google Docs adds web clipboard
Google's online productivity offer has been added a little feature that should help when copying and pasting content in your documents, a web clipboard. Use of the cloud-based clipboard enables you to temporarily store items you've copied for pasting into another document while keeping the formatting intact.

Chromium OS gets NVIDIA Ion video acceleration
The open-source version of Chrome OS, Chromium, has received its first GPU acceleration today through the custom variant Flow. It now supports hardware acceleration through an NVIDIA Ion chipset and should get both basic support as well as added performance in those areas that can use the faster-than-usual graphics. Battery life has also increased and is matched by proper support for automatic updates.
