AMD Radeon HD 5870 Eyefinity 6 Edition to debut on March 11
According to a report, AMD will let loose the Radeon HD 5830 next week, on February 25th, in advance of CeBIT 2010, and will introduce the Radeon HD 5870 Eyefinity 6 Edition after the Hannover show, on March 11th. The Radeon HD 5830 features 1280 Stream Processors, a 750 MHz core clock and 1GB of GDDR5 memory @ 4000 MHz, while the Radeon HD 5870 Eyefinity 6 Edition is a stock-clocked HD 5870 (with 2GB VRAM) that, instead of DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort outputs, features six mini DisplayPort connectors enabling a single card to control six monitors.

Next iPhone might use Samsung's Super AMOLED
The next-generation iPhone may switch to Samsung's Super AMOLED screen technology, according to rumors in the display business. Although Apple has purportedly been hesitant to use OLEDs due to their high power draw on bright backgrounds for e-mail and web browsing, the new screens used in the Wave and Beam could potentially overcome this problem. Apple is said by OLED-Display to have a lifetime deal with Samsung for AMOLED screens but to have held back on using it for now. Publicly, Apple is only known to have its $500 million deal with LG Display, but the other Korean company isn't believed to have enough capacity to produce AMOLEDs at volumes the iPhone would need.

Catalyst 10.2 is out
As expected, AMD has let loose the Catalyst 10.2 graphics drivers which boast multiple updates and also some performance improvements. This latest Catalyst release includes the v8.702 display driver, has support for the Radeon HD 2000 and newer cards, and features the following: - ATI Catalyst application profiles for ATI CrossFireX supported configurations - delivers support for the latest ATI CrossFireX profiles in a separate executable file, ensuring users have access to the absolute latest set of profiles installed on their PC. - ATI Catalyst support for PowerPlay on ATI CrossFireX technology supported configurations - delivers significant power saving benefits for users with ATI Radeon HD 5900, ATI Radeon HD 5800, and ATI Radeon HD 5700 series cards in CrossFireX configurations. - Support for DisplayPort audio - Support for CrossFireX on Eyefinity configurations

Intel 65nm CPUs production to stop in Q3 2010
Intel is aware that in Q1 2010, 65nm CPUs are still representing quite low 3 percent of its total shipment. This is set to shrink to 2 percent in Q2 and one percent in Q3 and, if all goes well, Intel's percentage of 65nm will sink below one percent and probably disappear in Q4 2010.
