Intel's hexa-core Gulftown to debut on March 16th
Much has been made of Intel's hexa-core Gulftown processor, to be known as the Core i7 980X, but whilst Intel remains tight-lipped in regards to retail availability, the rumour mill continues to point at a March launch window. According to the Apple enthusiasts over at French website macbidouille.com, Intel will introduce its range-topping desktop processor as part of a refreshed Mac Pro on March 16.

ATI Radeon HD 5450 provides DX11 graphics for 60 bucks
AMD launched its least expensive video card capable of DirectX 11 and OpenGL 3.2. The ATI Radeon HD 5450 has all the same visual effects as the 5600 and 5800 lines but is trimmed down to 80 stream processors, 8 texture units and a 650MHz engine clock speed. It can use 512 or 1024 MB of GDDR2 or GDDR3 memory via 64-bit bus. Besides keeping the price low, the design allows for extremely quiet cards: it can either use a low-speed fan in a single slot or a completely fanless design in a slightly larger space.

ASUS shows off new N-Series laptops with USB 3.0
ASUS presented the new laptops: N61, sporting a 16-inch widescreen display, and N82 with 14-inch screen. Both are powered by Intel Core i5 or Core i7 CPUs together with ATI or NVIDIA graphics card combo, and the USB 3.0 controller (no word for the rest of the specs). They are scheduled to be launched in Taiwanese market by the middle of this month, followed by the rest of the world.

iPad might ship with camera
A few reports have surfaced today that the Apple iPad will likely launch with a camera, despite it not being showed off during Apple's tablet unveiling last week. A screenshot from the event shows a dot above the screen that looks very much like a camera. A screenshot from the iPad emulator (via the SDK) shows the clear option to take a photo .
