Radeon HD 5450 specifications leaked
Next month, AMD is going to introduce more cards supporting DX11, namely the Cedar GPU-powered Radeon HD 5500 series and HD 5450. The lowest end card in this already low-end line, the Radeon HD 5450, will feature, as ati-forum.de (http://news.ati-forum.de/index.php/news/34-amdati-grafikkarten/1000-exklusiv-spezifikationen-der-hd5450) is reporting, 80 Stream Processors, a GPU clock of 650 MHz, a 64-bit memory interface, and 1GB of GDDR3 memory set at 1600 MHz.

Asus confirms Eee Pad
Apple's iPad is sure to have a lot of competition this year, among the challengers being the Eee Pad from Taiwanese heavyweight Asus. Confirmed by Asus vice-president, the Eee Pad is said to be an affordable tablet based around Nvidia's Tegra 2 SoC (System-on-a-chip) which was announced earlier this month at CES 2010.

OCZ Vertex LE SSD coming next week
While the Vertex 2 Pro has recently been doing the rounds around the Internet, it seems that the first SandForce-based solid state drive from OCZ to become available is actually the Vertex LE, where LE stands for Limited Edition. Found listed with February 5th as its estimated time of arrival, the Vertex LE has a 2.5-inch form factor (6.4 mm thick), 100GB and 200GB capacities, a SATA 3G interface, MLC (multi-level cell) NAND Flash memory chip, TRIM supports and and delivers maximum read and write speeds of 270 MB/s and 250 MB/s, respectively (235 MB/s sustained writing).

Powercolor announces Radeon HD 5670 PCS+
Powercolor has announced yet another card that will be a part of its factory overclock PCS+ lineup, the PCS+ HD 5670. The new PCS+ HD 5670 card features a slight factory overclock and a custom cooling solution. This Redwood based card features 400 stream processors, 128-bit memory interface, 512MB of GDDR5 memory and works at 785MHz instead of 775 MHz for the core and 4000MHz for memory, as it's on the reference model.

Microsoft sells 60 million copies of Windows 7
Microsoft has announced their quarterly earnings today, claiming their highest-ever quarterly revenue, thanks directly to strong sales of the Windows 7 operating system. The company sold 60 million copies of the new OS, and overall net income jumped 60 percent year-on-year to 6.66 billion dollars.

MSI details it's new14-inch laptops
MSI has now revealed two new additions to its Classic laptop series, the 14-inch CX420 and CR420. Both models measure 344.4 (W) x 221 (D) x 28 (H) mm, weight 2.2kg and feature a Chiclet keyboard, a scratch-resistant coating, a 14-inch display with 1366x768 pixels, and the ECO Engine power-saving technology which provides five power management modes - Gaming, Movie, Presentation, Office, and Turbo Battery.

Samsung now mass producing 3D LED TVs
Samsung has announced that they have begun mass producing displays for 3D LED HDTVs, a move that puts a lot of support behind the technology that many critics have called a gimmick. Being in mass production should mean lower prices for the end user in a short time frame. 3D TVs have so far come with a heavy price tag.

Piracy in the workplace increases 55 percent
ScanSafe, a provider of corporate software, has reported that workplace piracy (and attempted piracy) is up 55 percent in the last three months on corporate networks, including downloads of movies, music and software. The company says it currently processes data across more than 100 countries for millions of employees, giving it the industry’s most significant insight into the latest trends in Web traffic and malware.
