Experts Warn of Catastrophe from Cyberattacks
Experts seem to think the U.S. would be in big trouble if there was a "cyberwar." Well, the one thing they are overlooking is the fact that we have Bruce Willis. Jeez, didn't they see Live Free or Die Hard? I could swear we were just talking about this stuff last week. "If the nation went to war today in a cyberwar, we would lose," said Michael McConnell, executive vice president of Booz Allen Hamilton's national security business and a former director of national security and national intelligence. "We're the most vulnerable. We're the most connected. We have the most to lose." Comments

'Sophisticated' Hack Hit Intel and Adobe Too
If you are going to target high profile companies to hack, I guess it makes sense to try to get into Intel, Adobe and Google. On the other hand, those companies also have almost unlimited resources to track your little ass down and crush you like a bug too. Think about it. "We did not see the kind of broad-based attack as described by Google," said Intel spokesman Chuck Mulloy. "Companies routinely see hackers trying to get into their system. It is a risk factor and that's why it was in the 10-K. We've seen no loss of [intellectual property] as a result of any of these attacks." Comments

MagicJack Loses Lawsuit Against Boing Boing
It would seem that MagicJack has lost its lawsuit against Boing Boing. I am not sure why, but this whole being "sued for telling the truth" thing sounds vaguely familiar. We had no idea that it would file a baseless lawsuit to try and shut me up, that CEO Dan Borislow would offer to buy our silence after disparaging his own lawyers, or that MagicJack would ultimately face legal consequences for trying to intimidate critics. Intel: Communication-Assisted Platform Power Management
Intel's energy efficiency research is showing how we're reducing overall platform power demands while maintaining high performance. Intel research is taking a holistic approach to power management from the network to the platform for extended battery life. Another Twist in the Apple Sexy Apps Story
The fiasco over Apple removing almost all "sexually suggestive" apps from the app store has taken a turn for the worse. It seems the company is selectively allowing apps like Playboy and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 2010 app to stay, while eliminated anything else showing a bikini, skating tights or even silhouettes of boobs. While Apple is removing most of these sexy apps from the App Store, it's not removing all of them. So who gets to stay? Big publishers like Sports Illustrated and Playboy. In fact, not only is Sports Illustrated's Swimsuit 2010 app not being removed, it's being featured in the App Store. Both it and the Playboy app clearly violate the new rules of the more prudish App Store, yet they get to stay. Why? Comments
