ASUS' 2GB Radeon HD 5870 Matrix card spotted

While a 2GB frame buffer might seem like overkill on most graphics boards, there's a certain amount of logic to it for a behemoth in performance terms like the Radeon HD 5870.آ Along that train of thought, it appears that ASUS will be offering just such a card as part of their Matrix series of Republic of Gamers branded graphics boards.آ TechConnect have snagged some early pictures and information about this particular offering.

Asus is really bringing in the Cypress goodies as in addition to the Radeon HD 5870 TOP and Radeon HD 5850 DirectCU (seen yesterday), it has also developed a Matrix series Radeon HD 5870 model. Bearing the ROG (Republic of Gamers) banner, the upcoming Radeon features 1600 Stream Processors, a 256-bit memory interface, a GPU clock of 900 MHz (850 MHz stock), 2GB of GDDR5 memory @ 4900 MHz (4800 MHz), DirectX 11 and CrossFireX support, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs, plus two 8-pin PCIe power connectors (as opposed to the dual 6-pin plugs on reference models).

Find our more and see some images of the card right here.

Activation exploits are sometimes called “hacksâ€‌, and attempt to bypass or compromise Windows’ activation technologies. This new update is further evidence of Microsoft’s commitment to keeping customers and partners secure. The update will determine whether Windows 7 installed on a PC is genuine and will better protect customers’ PCs by making sure that the integrity of key licensing components remains intact.
