AMD gets more CPU market share in Q4
According to the IDC, the last quarter of 2009 has seen worldwide CPU shipments reach a new all-time high thanks to good performance in every segment. The research firm's report shows that in Q4 2009 the market performance of mobile, server and desktop CPUs rose by 11.7%, 14.1% and 4.8% sequentially, while the ASP (average selling price) went up 6.7% compared to Q3.

Sony to revive VAIO M as a notebook
A new rumor today asserts that Sony could be reviving a 6-year-old PC badge in a different form. Once limited to a series of all-in-one desktops from 2004 (check the picture), the VAIO M should reappear soon but as a notebook. Only two model numbers are known to exist, the VPC-M111AX/B and VPC-M111AX/W, but do imply black and white colors for the same design.

Google Chrome 4 released
Some four months after its last stable release, Google has today made available the fourth major revision of its Chrome web browser. Google Chrome v4 becomes the first stable release to offer support for Extensions and Bookmark Sync - features previously only available via beta releases. Extensions, which are essentially third-party software additions designed to extend the functionality of the browser, aim to replicate the success of the add-ons available via rival browser, Firefox. Since its introduction, Google's Extensions gallery has grown to boast over 1,500 new additions.
