This week started off pretty good for Google Docs and its users as the web-based service has received a new feature update, enhancing it with the Convert, Zip and Download function. Developed by the Docs and the Data Liberation Front teams, the fresh feature enables people to bundle their G-docs in a format of their choice (MS Office, Open Office, PDF or others) and download them as a zip file.

New Twitter phishing scam
Twitter has released a security warning of a new phishing scam that is designed to trick users into divulge their login credentials for the micro-blogging site. We have seen a few phishing attempts today. If you've received a strange DM and it takes you to a Twitter login page, don't do it, said a posting on the service's Spam Watch feed late yesterday. The attach comes in as a message from one of a user's followers, with a classic Is this you message linking to the Twitter login page where it harvests credentials.

HP Improves Digital Media Sharing
HP's refreshed their MediaSmart home servers line to function better as photo-video servers on across the Internet, and to use faster processors. The two models are the MediaSmart EX490, $550 with one 1 TB hard drive and Intel Celeron processor, and the MediaSmart EX495, $700 with a 1.5TB drive and an Intel Pentium Dual Core processor.

For an average user, question of monitor backlight is, in most cases, a trivial one. Most users simply don’t like to see too much backlight breach along edges along with bright or smudgy black areas. And that’s it, for an average user. In case you do need good display, and do pay attention to small details, you expect much more from your monitor’s backlight. LED (Light Emitting Diode) backlight is often mentioned as better and more energy efficient solution, but only in case RGB LED technology is correctly implemented. Changing neon backlight for an LED does sound like a simple task in theory, but this can also present some new problems. Since LG W2486L does have LED backlight, and we will check out how LG did its homework.
