Intel reports strong third-quarter results
A net income of $1.9 billion for the third quarter of 2009?آ I'm not sure that any further commentary is required on Intel's latest financial results.
"Intel's strong third-quarter results underscore that computing is essential to people's lives, proving the importance of technology innovation in leading an economic recovery," said Paul Otellini, Intel president and CEO. "This momentum in the current economic climate, plus our product leadership, gives us confidence about our business prospects going forward. As we look ahead, Intel's game-changing 32nm process technology will usher in another wave of innovation from new, powerful Intel(R) Xeon(TM) server platforms to high-performance Intel(R) Core(TM) processors to low-power Intel(R) Atom(TM) processors."

NVIDIA's Bumpy Ride: A Q4 2009 update
With NVIDIA effectively sitting out the race to hit the market first with DirectX 11 parts, speculation has been rife across the web, from wide-eyed raving commentaries about the company pulling out of the high-end and mainstream GPU market onwards.آ Thankfully, Anandtech have sat down to take a more balanced look at NVIDIA's situation as it stands, and how it expects to see the firm's strategy pan out as we move towards 2010.
NVIDIA told me two things. One, that they have shared with some OEMs that they will no longer be making GT200b based products. That’s the GTX 260 all the way up to the GTX 285. The EOL (end of life) notices went out recently and they request that the OEMs submit their allocation requests asap otherwise they risk not getting any cards.
The second was that despite the EOL notices, end users should be able to purchase GeForce GTX 260, 275 and 285 cards all the way up through February of next year.
