New e-book readers coming
If you asked us just one year ago, e-book readers where thing of the past. However, with new Kindle shaking that market, rest were soon to follow. Just yesterday we published info on new Sony reader, but it looks like that other well established names in PC component market will be soon to follow. It seams that ASUS president Jerry Shen said that ASUS plans to launch an Eee branded e-book reader by the end of 2009. If this is to happen, it is reasonable to think that other will follow the trend, MSI and Acer coming there first. Currently, demand for e-book readers is mainly concentrated in North America and Europe, with penetration in Asia markets low due to differences in reading habits. This could be a potential problem for manufacturers, as there is no big demand for this devices, but on the other hand key to success lies in establishing a content delivery platform.

24.6 Mpix in a single camera
Sony launched update to the higher end of its Alpha DSLRs, with three new cameras. Top dog is A850, offering same whooping 14.6 Mpix sensor as in A900, but for $1000 less. In many ways these two cameras are the same, with full-frame, sensor image stabilization and dual processors. Viewfinder is slightly reduced, and now provides 98 percent coverage versus A900 complete image, but with price slashed down to $2000 (body only), for many it can be fair trade. For more mainstream photographers, the A500 and A550 are Sony's new mid-tier, crop-frame DSLRs and are the first to sit in between the A700 and the economy A300 series. Both have a swivel LCD and new combinations of sensors and processors that boost the maximum light sensitivity up to ISO 12,800, or enough to theoretically compete with cameras like Canon's Rebel T1i.
