A report on DigiTimes about some DirectX 10.1 NVIDIA GPUs due to be launched in October also brings interesting speculation regarding some potential naming scheme changes which will accompany those cards, as the company seems to be continuing to revamp its product names to improve clarity.

In addition to GeForce 210, Nvidia is also expected to launch GPUs codenamed GT230 and GT300 in the fourth quarter of 2009, the sources said.

Nvidia has recently adjusted its GPU naming scheme and removed marks such as GTX, GT and G, and will instead just simply use GeForce plus the number.

In an interview with Producer Denby Grace we learned that 2K Czech (formerly Illusion Softworks) has recreated the engine of Mafia 2 almost from scratch. The result is a D3D9 renderer - support for DX10 or DX11 has not been integrated. Mafia 2 is a pure cross platform title although the PC is said to be the lead platform. Due to the higher resolutions as well as additional GPU Physx particle effects, like dynamic, interactive smoke) the PC version will also offer better graphics than the console variant.
