Topeka to be Google, Kansas
I have seen people change the name of their baby, get tattoos and other stunts to curry favor with a company but I have never seen a town the size of Topeka do it. Topeka Mayor Bill Bunten signed a proclamation Monday calling for Topeka to be known for the month of March as "Google, Kansas — the capital city of fiber optics." Bunten told city council members about the proclamation prior to a special meeting of the council held at noon at City Hall to hear the first reading of a proposal that wasn't linked to local efforts to convince Google to make Topeka a test site for an ultrafast Internet connection. Windows XP Downgrade Lawsuit Dismissed
The antitrust lawsuit filed against Microsoft last year over Windows XP downgrades has been dismissed. The courts said Microsoft in no way benefited from the fee to downgrade to XP from Vista. The judge in the case stated that the plaintiff should have filed suit against Lenovo, the company that charged her for the downgrade, not Microsoft. In the lawsuit, Alvarado claimed that she was being taken advantage of by Microsoft by having to pay additional money to downgrade. The problem with that assertion is that Microsoft did not charge, nor profit from, that fee. Alvarado should have filed her suit against Lenovo. Comments

Swoosh!!! Did you hear that? It was the sound of the Pirate Bay sails as its ship whooshes by the court imposed deadline to remove all torrents from the site. The next sound you might hear could be "clang" as the trio are tossed in the brig. This ultimatum passed today and thus far no changes have been made to The Pirate Bay. Dutch users can still access all parts of the site and from the looks of it no torrent files have been removed.
