(PR) Alphacool Announces the X-Flow Series Radiators
Alphacool
expands the extensive range of products in the area radiators to a
completely new line: the X-Flow. Thus Alphacool completes its product
range with a high-flow series with special characteristics without
loosing the known and popular virtues of previous NexXxoS series. On the
contrary, you build continuously on top of the positive things and
offer the customer additional possibilities to create his own
water-cooling circle.
The X-Flow
series is fully optimized for high flow. In contrast to conventional
radiators, the water does not flow into the U-shape through the
radiator, but uses the entire width of the channels to flow from one
side to the other side of the radiator. It is hardly any resistance
within the radiator, what gives guarantee for a high flow. In the
meantime, many cases offers assembly areas in whitch radiators can stand
upright. Traditional radiators you can hardly bleed useful in such a
position. The water is barely capable to press down the air within the
radiator what will always be the case of a U-shaped water circulation in
an upright position. In the X-flow radiators, this is not the case. If
you use the inlet at the lower end, the air is easily pushed out over
the top outlet. This eliminates almost all venting problems at
radiators.

AMD Zen Architecture Supports Up to 32 Cores per Socket: Leaked Linux Patch
AMD's
next-generation "Zen" x86-64 CPU micro-architecture will support up to
32 cores per socket, according to leaked Linux kernel patch on LKML. We know from older reports,
that AMD clumps groups of four cores in subunits it calls "Zen
quad-core units." Not to be confused with its current "module" design, a
quad-core unit is a group of four completely independent cores, which
share nothing other than an L3 cache. TechFrag used this bit to deduce
that the "Zen" architecture is scalable up to eight quad-core units per
socket, or 32 cores per socket.

NVIDIA Outs Hotfix Driver to Address Graphics Card Eject Bug
NVIDIA
rolled out a Hotfix driver update for its recently released GeForce
361.75 Game Ready drivers. The new GeForce 361.82 Hotfix driver corrects
a bug which makes your installed GPUs appear as removable devices in
your system tray (much like removable storage devices). It may have been
a bug in the implementation of support for external graphics solutions
over Thunderbolt 3, introduced with 361.75 WHQL. The hotfix driver
addresses the issue.
If you find
a 300-megabyte download worth fixing the bug (i.e. you often
accidentally "eject" your graphics cards (unload display driver) while
trying to unmount your external storage devices), then grab the driver
for your OS from the link below.
(PR) AMD Reveals World's First Hardware-Virtualized GPU Product Line
AMD

virtual machines. MxGPU controls GPU scheduling delivering predictable
quality of service to the user.
Seagate Hit with Class Action Lawsuit over High HDD Failure Rates
Hard
drive major Seagate has been hit with a class action lawsuit, accusing
it of abnormally high failure rates for its 1.5 TB and 3 TB internal and
external/portable hard drives. It also accuses the company of false
claims over "reliability" and "dependability" in its marketing.
The
lawsuit cites data aggregated by cloud solutions company Backblaze.
According to this data, a 3 TB Seagate hard drive is three times as
likely to fail, as a Western Digital (WD) 3 TB hard drive. It's also ten
times as likely to fail as a Hitachi drive. The data appears to look at
percentage failure rate, and not raw failed drive volumes, so
market-share and volumes shipped by each company is not relevant.
Seagate is yet to respond to the lawsuit.
