Gmail gets offline attachment ability
Catering to the needs of its potentially net-troubled audience, the Gmail Labs team has tweaked a few things here and there to finally allow users to include attachments in mail they have composed when offline. Attachments will work just as they do when you're online, just be sure to have Offline Gmail enabled else no net means no Gmail.
"If you have Offline Gmail enabled, you'll notice that all your mail now goes through the outbox, regardless of whether you're online or offline. This allows Gmail to capture all attachments, even if you suddenly get disconnected from network," explains Andy Palay, Software Engineer. "If you're online, your mail will quickly be sent along to its destination."
To activate Offline Gmail go to the Labs tab in the Settings page, select 'Enabled' in the feature's section and click 'Save changes'.

Chrome extension gallery goes live for developers
The rather important roll out of extension-supporting Chrome beta builds is closing in so Google has launched a gallery to house the browser add-ons coming from developers around the world. Currently, the gallery is only available to devs and provides the possibility of uploading their extensions so they can be ready for the upcoming beta launch.
"Once an extension is uploaded, our gallery takes care of packaging and signing," said Lei Zheng, Google Software Engineer. "Updating an extension is also incredibly easy - all a developer needs to do is to upload a new file in the gallery. Finally, to further help developers, in the next few days, we plan to open up the gallery to a small group of trusted testers."
According to Google, most extensions will go through an automated review process, with the only ones needing a more thorough look being those that include an NPAPI component and content scripts that affect "file://" URLs. For these add-ins, their creators will have to provide more information, for security reasons.
